i'm working from home today, but i keep running into a problem. the problem is my ridiculous child. i just happened to glance down at him and saw him struggle to get his sock off, wave it around in victory when it came off, and then congratulate himself on the conquest. holy cow my kid is strange. he slips on the floor and knocks his head alot. that may explain the sock saga. seriously...everybody should have a jaden. i might look into renting him out. any takers?

no thank you mr khaki pants

you know those carnal games you play where you answer questions like "if you could be with anyone who would it be?" and you can't say your husband or your boyfriend because 1-thats a lame answer and 2-the idea is to reveal what kind of person you are attracted to without "personality" being a factor. well...i played that game the other day with my children's ministry coworkers (being the spiritual women that we are) and i discovered something about myself.

i'm hot for rockers. i should have figured this out before, but i guess i never really spent time thinking about it. i'm very turned off by abercrombie boys and khaki pants. i like boys in ratty bootcut jeans and sweaty t-shirts. i also like rockers with a message. i don't like pop rockers. give me ben harper over maroon 5 anyday.

so i went to a wilco concert last night. it was wonderful. every single man in wilco was sexy. they were so talented and completely into the music. i love that.

you know what else i love? i married a rocker. a hot rocker with a message. a man who loves wilco more than i ever will. so the the real answer to the carnal question is my husband. i would choose him over any other man.

but since you can't use your husband as an answer, i had to say someone else. who was it? ...well i'll keep that between, me, my coworkers, and my husband. :)

in case you haven't read dan's blog...his dad has gotten worse. going through this is painful, but the unknown is more painful. please pray.

-talking on the phone with vendors setting up credit accounts
-WHILE standing in my kitchen guarding the open cupboard (where we store the empty beer bottles that jaden found)
-WHILE pulling the toxic cleaners out of jaden's hand that he found in the cabinet under the kitchen sink.
-WHILE trying to drill holes and install the safety locks on the cabinets i was guarding
-WHILE dodging all tupperware that he had strewn all over the floor

no complaints though...he's so cool its worth it

things change fast

i'm sure dan will post about this on his blog, but please pray for dan's dad. we got some more bad news tonight about his cancer. things don't look very hopeful. pray that our family (especially linda and he) keeps hope and strength. its really scary. life really sucks sometimes.

my buddy and me

there was an advertisement when i was growing up for a girl's and boy's doll called "kid sister" and "my buddy." it had a great jingle to go along with it, and i in fact still sing the song today (dan loves it when i do that). i only mention that because jaden is sitting beside me on the couch as i type this, and the "my buddy" jingle keeps running through my head.

today dan and i sat together in church. it was so great. we haven't done that since we've been at this church. it was appropriate too because noel talked about sex. and it was a great teaching...i'll just leave it at that.

tomorrow is my first full day of Ooh La La Crepes work. i'm nervous because i'm terrified of failing, but i'm not sure anyone really likes the idea of failing. i know i'll be good at it, and i'm so excited to have this chance...i just have nerves. our target opening date is march 14. if you are interested in a part time job, give me a call. just a warning, i hear the boss is a witch.

i've got a laptop

i always said i would blog more if i had a laptop...so we'll see if i'm a liar or not. i now have a laptop...or should i say that Ooh La La Crepes has a laptop. there is a ton to do for the shop, a ton. and to top it off, i got sick again. why in the world do i keep getting sick? i'm feeling better right now, my fever broke about a half hour ago. i tell you what, a fever breaking is gross.

jaden is sick too. he doesn't have what i have, he just has this nasty swollen eye that seeps green mucus. how disgusting is that? he doesn't seemed bothered by it aside from that fact that he can't open it up very far. its so strange. we've only been home from florida for a day and half and we are both sick. i want to blame michigan so badly, but i'm sure its just a coincidence. i miss florida, but i'm so happy to be home with my friends.

my treadmill broke, so there goes my work out. i tried to run in place, but i realized no one runs in place because it sucks. i ended up just bouncing from one foot to the other and i could be wrong, but i don't think bouncing gives that good of a cardio workout.

okay, i'm not feeling good again. time to take a nap.
